Dairy Queen has repeat violations

Healthinspections.com is reporting that a Dairy Queen in Daytona Beach was  fined $900 for repeated problems such as untrained employees handling food and foods held at dangerous temperatures.

Based on a review of thousands of health inspections in 12 cities, Dairy Queen has one of the worst records in the fast food industry, often with critical violations that have not been corrected since the last inspection.  The chain has one of the worst records in fast food for repeating the same health code violation time and again.

Employee hygiene is the number one problem at DQ – accounting for 22% of the chain's violations. Hygiene includes everything from workers not washing their hands to employees found eating and drinking in the kitchen.
Near Denver, for example, an inspector watched an employee "wipe nose, take money," and continue to prepare food without washing.

That is a big yuck!I remember returning burgers to Wendy's once a week because they were red, not pink, in the middle. I requested to speak to the manager and his response was, "Sorry, we have a new person on the grill." This was in the early 90's just after a big tainted meat scare.I stopped going to Wendy's after that. I guess I'll cross Blizzards off my list, too.Disclaimer: This is not a reflection of all Wendy's.

I have been ill for three days and the only thing I ate the day before was at dairy queen. I think it was their tarter sauce that was not refrigerated. I was so sick I had to call an ambulance.

My boyfriend and I had to go in th emergency room after eating some cheese burgers from DQ. I'm on my third day of recovering from food poison. My boyfriend does not have insurance at the time. But we were not going to let each other die for that fact. Therefore, we checked ourselves in the ER. Also we missed work for two days. Is there anything DQ can do for us?

I work at dairy queen and i will be the first to tell you that the reason for theses violations is due to the manager not talking the right action. In stead of worrying about how the ice cream shoyuld look and the cones lokk. worry about the saftey. My store has already been charged with reusing cups years ago and that concerned me. as far as i am concerned im looking for another job right now. I dont want to work for a company that doesn't wear gloves while preparing food. as well as lack of dicipline with the crew.

Former employee of 3 years says:

I worked there 3 years I have seen how managers train us to pull burgers up still bloody so they can keep them in the warmer for longer to save buck and make more profit off of the victum/the custumer. The ice cream machine is magget infested and leaks a green liquid out of the overrun valves and into the icecream mix that you the custumer eats. The cheese is stale and molded. The candy has flys feeding on it all day. The same bacon cooked in the morning is the same you will eat at dinner after being nourishing all the flys through out the day. People spit on the gravy for fun, managers get high at work on the clock. My job at DQ ended when the meth head, pot smoking, pill popping, manager yelled at me for no reason and clocked me out so I stood up for myself and clocked back it but of course the cooperation beleived the manager over me even after I sent proof of a party at DQ with alchohal in the building and proof on the same manager telling me to lie about it. All the claims are true it is a re accurring theme that DQ is a greedy company that doesnt care about you but cares about getting your money and does not follow is own guide lines. If your report an incident it will be ignored by cooperate staff even though they will tell you it was handled. I know I worked there 3 years.......
