Snake or frog, Houston mother and kids still grossed out after finding animal head in frozen veggies

Ernestine Jamison cooks vegetables for her four children every night in their north Houston apartment.

But when she opened a bag of Pictsweet frozen cut green beans last month, she found more than just green beans.

The Jamison family believes the green and black frozen object nestled in their dinner was a severed snake head.

Jamison called Pictsweet, and they offered her $150.

But she wasn’t looking for money and turned it down.

A letter sent by the company’s insurance provider to Jamison claims Pictsweet “is not responsible for this accident,” and they are “denying liability.”

The company also claims it wasn’t a snake head at all. They say it was a frog head. “But it's still gross whether it's a frog or snake,” said Jamison.

Art Davis says:

Adding a picture of a rattlesnake head with fangs exposed seems a little overboard. Fangs and venom have little to do with food safety but much to do with sensationalism of which we currently have way to much in the food safety area.

Very very very gross discovery. However, congrats to the lady who refused the $150. it convinces me that this is a true incident as opposed to the ones where planting "evidence" was done purely for profit, which is unconscionable. Such as the Wendy's thumb incident. If you are truly concerned and sincere and honest you would, as this person did, eschew any financial recompense.

I was surfing the web for Pictsweet because we had just found a cockroach in a bag of their frozen broccoli. Not only did I find website address but I also came across several disturbing articles about Pictsweet's business practices and their callous, abusive attitudes towards their workers. I don;t know ow Pictsweet will respond to my complaint but I do k ow that I will not accept any compensation nor will I EVER buy a Pictsweet product again. Read the following story...it's very compelling. http://www.alternativesmagazine.com/19/swaim.html
